Real Estate, Infrastructure & Community Development

Economic and fiscal impact analysis for real estate, infrastructure, and community development projects — helping clients communicate how development contributes to employment, tax base growth, neighborhood investment, and regional economic activity.

The Role of Economic Analysis in Development

Real estate, infrastructure, and community development projects generate economic activity that extends well beyond the project boundary. A mixed-use development creates construction jobs, supports local vendors, generates property and sales tax revenue, and can catalyze further private investment in the surrounding neighborhood.

SRC EvalMetrics helps clients measure and communicate these effects — for public housing authorities seeking to demonstrate their economic contribution, developers supporting incentive applications, nonprofits communicating community value, and public agencies evaluating infrastructure investments.

Our work is designed to be decision-ready — structured for use in board presentations, grant applications, legislative testimony, press releases, and community engagement.

Recent Work

Economic Impact Study — Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority

Client: Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) · Franklin County, Columbus MSA, and Ohio · 2017–2022

A multi-year series of economic impact studies measuring CMHA's contribution to employment, labor income, GDP, and tax revenues across Franklin County, the Columbus MSA, and the state of Ohio. The analysis documented the economic footprint of public housing authority operations and capital programs, and was used to engage policymakers and support investment decisions.

"SRC EvalMetrics' clear analysis of CMHA's economic and community benefits became a key tool for engaging policymakers and unlocking new investments."

— Scott Scharlach, Chief Operating Officer, CMHA
